Project Overview

A complete transformation of digital sales and order management

Umandawa Online Store had an existing WooCommerce website, but the platform was no longer supporting the business effectively. The mobile interface was visually inconsistent, the checkout experience was unreliable, payment methods did not work correctly, and managing orders was difficult for the internal team.

I rebuilt the entire e-commerce experience on Shopify, creating a cleaner, faster, and easier-to-manage online store. This was not only a website redesign—it was a complete transformation of the company’s digital sales and order-management process.

The Challenge

The store needed more than visual improvements

The previous WooCommerce store had several major problems. It required a reliable e-commerce foundation that could support daily operations and future growth.

  • Broken and outdated mobile interface
  • Inconsistent product layouts and image quality
  • Confusing navigation and category structure
  • Payment methods that did not work reliably
  • Difficult and time-consuming order management
  • No proper integration with the company’s delivery partner
  • Poor customer confidence during checkout
  • Only approximately 3–4 online orders per month

The Solution

Five strategic improvements across platform, design, and operations

01 — Platform

Migrating from WooCommerce to Shopify

I migrated the store from WooCommerce to Shopify to provide a more stable, secure and manageable e-commerce system.

  • Manage products and inventory
  • Process customer orders
  • Update website content and collections
  • Monitor payments
  • Maintain the store without complex technical work

02 — Experience

Complete UX and UI Redesign

I redesigned the storefront with a cleaner and more professional visual direction that better represents the Umandawa brand.

  • Clear navigation and product categories
  • Improved mobile responsiveness
  • Consistent product cards and typography
  • Simplified cart and checkout journeys
  • Dedicated sections for collections, best sellers and new products
Redesigned shop all page with improved UX

03 — Visuals

Product Image Transformation

The original product images were inconsistent and did not create a strong premium appearance. I recreated and enhanced the product visuals for a cleaner, more professional store presentation.

  • More consistent product presentation
  • Cleaner backgrounds and lifestyle imagery
  • Stronger visual storytelling
  • A more professional and trustworthy appearance

04 — Payments

PayHere Payment Integration

The previous payment experience was unreliable and created difficulties for customers. I implemented PayHere and tested the complete payment journey.

  • Smoother and more dependable checkout
  • Reduced payment friction
  • Clearer path to complete online purchases

05 — Operations

Custom Order-Tracking Application

The delivery partner did not provide an existing Shopify application. I developed a custom order-tracking app connecting Shopify orders with the delivery workflow.

  • Track customer orders and delivery information
  • Monitor order progress
  • Reduce manual communication
  • Continue with the preferred delivery partner
